By now, we all know that Suriya will play the role of a Buddhist monk (Bodhidharma) in his much awaited 7 Aum Arivu, directed by A.R. Murugadoss. Interestingly Suriya will sport the look of a Buddhist monk for only 20 minutes in the film. Suriya will appear as a Tamil prince from Kancheepuram who travels to China and became a well-respected monk there. Director Murugadoss has done a lot of research on the role and sources who have seen the raw version of the film are amazed with Suriya's performance. "Bodhidarma is an important personality in Buddhist history. Even today, his statutes are workshiped in many Shaolin temples across the globe. He is also know as Damo! 7 Aum Arivu is a very prestigious project in my career and I am really lucky to do this. This film will stand apart," Suriya said to Galatta.com.
The story is said to revolve around a time machine brought to India by a scientist (Shruti Haasan). The film is also being dubbed in Hindi and Telugu. 7th sense is a sci-fi thriller in which Suriya plays a double role and Shruti Haasan is the heroine. Ravi K. Chandran handles the camera while Harris Jayaraj is the music director. "It is an important film in my career. Working with Murugadoss sir is always a boon. I am really excited, it's a dream team. Action sequences and the CG works are amazing in 7 Aum Arivu. It's world class Tamil film," he added.
